Instagram is a VISUAL platform!

The photos you post are the main reason people will follow you.

People follow people because they like their content.

It's as simple as that!

So before you go and apply ANY of the other tips, work on their content.

Look at your content and see where you can improve, how you can improve it.

Speaking of content, you don't want to create random content that only interests you.

If you want to get more followers and more people to find you, you need to create content that can be shared.

Create content where people find value and want to share.

It can be content that inspires people, teaches them something, makes them laugh, etc.

Think about your target audience and why they come to your account.

What kind of value can you offer them?

And then create content FOR them (not for you!)

Create content that your followers are most interested in.

And how do you know what that is?

By looking at your knowledge of Instagram or other analytics tools.

Pay attention to your ideas to see which posts get the most engagement (especially ones that are

shared and saved!) And create more similar content.

Sharing your posts is one of the best ways to introduce yourself to more people and gain new followers.

When someone shares one of your posts, their followers see it and they can visit your account and decide to follow you.


Be consistent:


If your content is great but you are posting leap year, people will not follow.

Or if they do, they will soon stop following when they realize that they haven't posted anything in months.

Another reason you should be consistent is because of the Instagram algorithm.

Well, there is no "correct" answer.

The most important thing is to find a schedule that you can follow long-term.

Do you think you can randomly add some hashtags to your captions and magically get hundreds of likes and followers? 



Sorry to tell you, but that's not how things work. 



You must research and find the best possible hashtags for you. 



Don't worry, it's not as complicated as it sounds. 



This is how you can find hashtags to use: 


  • go explore the page and type a general hashtag (in your niche) and click on it, at the top of the page you will see some related hashtags you can use
  • or go to the profile of someone posting similar content to yours and see what hashtags you use


Now that you have found a hashtag that you could use, you need to see if it would work for you. 




To do this, look at the main posts on that hashtag and see:


  • The kind of photos that are at the top
  • How many I like the main publications
  • How many comments do you have



If you post similar content and the amount of likes/comments you get on your posts is similar to theirs, you have a chance to be on top posts.

That is the type of hashtag you should use.

Use hashtags where your posts get a chance to be seen by the RIGHT people.

That's why I told him to search for hashtags in his niche, also known as hashtags, that are related to the content he posts.


Create a hashtag library


To make things quicker and easier for you, create a hashtag library of all the hashtags you can use in your posts.

Or if you have a blog, put your Instagram link in your sidebar and mention it in your posts. 

You can also promote your Instagram profile on Twitter. Add your Instagram link to your Twitter bio. And use a tool like IFTTT to automatically post your Instagram posts to Twitter. 

Track your progress

Pay attention to your reviews to see what works and what doesn't.

With a business account, you have access to Instagram ideas where you can see how many impressions/likes/comments all of your posts and stories had, see how many profile visits or website clicks you had. You can find out where your followers are from, how old they are, and much more

You can also go to each photo you've posted and view specific information for that post and see how many saved and shared you got, how many people actually saw your photo, and how they found it.

And many other useful things.

Use an analysis tool

Another great way to track your progress on Instagram is to use an analytics tool.

There are many tools and applications, but my favorite is the preview application.

The preview app is actually a feed scheduler (I would totally recommend it to schedule your feed by the way) but it also has an amazing analytics feature.

You can find out how engaged your audience is, what are the best times to post, what are your top posts, and more.

What I like most about the preview app is its hashtag tools.

You can search for hashtags by category or country and then simply add them to the hashtag groups.

You can also see which are your best performing hashtags, which ones you liked the most, comments, etc., which is SO useful!

I always check my hashtag reviews when I create a new post to see which ones would be best for that photo!
